Great machine!

What a great machine. So easy to use--realy didn't use the manual and was able to figure it out pretty easily. I bought this as a scanner and FAX and it's great that it has a document feeder. Strongly recommend this product.

Won't run Encore or Premiere CS3

Nice computer, I bought it for video editing. I loaded Premiere CS3 and got the message that the computer had an incompatable sound card and I wouldn't be able to record sound. I tried it anyway and it worked. Next I loaded Encore CS3, loaded OK but could not open it, it would go as far as the"enjoy the blue-ray" blurb and the whole computer would freeze up and I would have to re-start. I disabled the DVD drive and it loaded, I then enabled the DVD drive but I couldn't burn a DVD. These are the primary programs that I use, as I had issues with both of them I just returned the computer.

I get most of my info from user reviews, that is why I am writing this this to share my experience.

Great Notebook for the $$$!

This notebook is simply awesome. The screen is huge, crisp and bright, the HDD is huge (and it has extra room for a 2nd HDD), the keyboard is great...

I can´t find any negative points in this machine. It could have one or two USB ports on the back though, because at least for me it is annoying to have at any time 2-3 ports occupied and all those cables coming out of the sides of the thing.

One thing that nobody seems to have mentioned is that it doesn't come with a lot of backup/restore CDs or DVDs. Instead, you can create your own DVDs to restore the original configuration from a pre-installed application. So you do have a backup, but you don't get a 'real' copy of Windows 7 to do a clean install if you want to. I would prefer a genuine copy of Windows 7 instead...

All in all, a GREAT deal for the money. Definitely recommended!

Great Drive

I bought this drive after returning a WD Passport drive due to the poor USB attachment. This drive is far superior to the Passport in all ways and no VCD firmware to deal with. It is being used on two Windows 7 computers, one 32 bit and one 64 bit with out a hitch. Highly recommend.

Does what is advertised

Quick easy set up I had it running in under 10 minutes. The picture is clear and bright. The purchase price was a major factor in selecting this monitor and has proven to be a value for that price. I purchased this online and went to the store and picked it up, the entire transaction at the store had me in and out in just a few minutes.

I have bought two of these monitors (with the pc package). One for work and one for a client. This is a great looking monitor and I have no complaints at all.

Well Worth the Price

I have had quite a few printers and multi function units during the last few years and this is one of the easier ones to use. The price was well below what I have paid in the past and so far it has performed flawlessly.

Very Good

I have the epson printer and the ink is extremely easy to install. It also prints clear and very bold. Best Buy had the best deal. It was very low in price and they had a special buy one get one 1/2 off. They also gave me free shipping to my home.

Illumination very useful. Touch similar to laptop.

Face it, even if you type by touch you've got to look down every once in a while. Since our desktop is in the main living area where the lights are dimmed in the evening, now I don't have to turn on my overhead desk light.

The keys are quiet, soft touch, much like a laptop. The light level is adjustable so it can be dimmed (or turned off) if needed. The design is modern looking, matches my black logitech mouse nicely. It's very low profile, so perfect for a sliding keyboard drawer like mine.

I also like the larger delete key!

Got it on sale, but still a little pricey. No purchase regrets, though. Nice conversation piece.

Works Like A Charm

I love my mouse. I just plug it in and go. The battery life is great! I've been using it for a month now and haven't had to replace it yet. The only bad thing is I forget there is an on and off switch, which prolongs your battery life, so alot of times I forgot to switch it to the off position after I'm done using it. The other thing is I'm always afraid I'm going to loose the USB plug. However, the storage for it on the underside of the mouse has held it alot better then I thought. The only time I loose it is when it is in my laptop bag, moving around the bottom of the bag; sometimes it comes off of the mouse. Great product and great price!!

Wireless Beware

This router is great if you have your computers connected directly or your wireless product in nearby. The signal for the router if you get too far away is horrible and constantly gets lost. I threw this router away and bought the older model blue one and for wireless it is way better. NOT a good wireless router unless your close.

Great Computer for the Price

This is the best computer for the price at Best Buy. It's specs meet or beat many computers that are $200+ or more.

No one should complain it's not "convenient," because it is not supposed to be. It has a 17" screen. It's not for convenient travel, it's a replacement for a desktop best used for post processing photos, web browsing, watching movies and multimedia.

Others have said they bought this computer 2 months ago. Impossible as the current version was just released last week, so ignore that review.

With 4gb RAM expandable to 8gb; a 500gb hard drive running at 7200 rpms; a 17" screen; solid sound system; Windows 7, this computer runs fast fast fast. I've had multiple operations running at one time with no problem.

The outer casing is attractive and solidly put together. No complaints there.

If you're looking for a solid performer with a big screen, take a look at this computer, it's a steal.

Just Incredible

I've wanted a Mac since getting my PC laptop 2.5 years ago. That laptop crashed in the middle of October and a week later I was the proud owner of a MacBook! Now, I wanted a computer with higher specs than the baseline computer from Apple, but I have yet to regret my decision in purchasing the 13.3", 2.26 GHz MacBook. I'm completely satisfied and amazed by this computer. I was so excited to open the box and learn as much as I could! I am continuously surprised by the improvements and differences between this computer and a windows machine. I feel like I wasted 2.5 years of my life with my old laptop! I am completely converted and wish I could buy everyone I know one of these computers!!!

The trackpad took some adjustment, but the multitouch commands are wonderful once you figure them out. I'm a geek, so I love to figure things out as I go along! I love iPhoto! I'm really hoping the organization software keep duplicates out of my life from now on!!!

The More RAM the better

I'm a student so my primary focus is a laptop that can live up to my paper writing and entertainment needs. I have thousands of music, pic, and doc files but primarily store them on an external hard drive to avoid a clutter hardrive on my computer. However this did not help me with this dell. I runs smoothly for a while until you try to stream a video on youtube or open up a brower window or 2. Then come in the low memory dialouge boxes. I got soooo sick of having to restart my laptop that I bought more memory... upgraded from 2gb to 4gb of ram. So far its been going great. If you do get this laptop spring for at least 4gb of RAM even tho 2gb is standard.

Great value, but be prepared

This computer is the least expensive I could find with this fast processor. Combined with the 4GB of memory, 64-bit Windows 7, integrated webcam with microphone, and HDMI output (items you have to upgrade to typically) you cannot beat the value. The keypad can put your right wrist at an awkward angle, which may just take some getting used to. I am having the same issue as a previous reviewer in which the screen will go completely black at varied times in different situations. 5 times the screen went black in 5 days of ownership and only a restart can bring back the screen which means you could lose your work. Through some research, it appears this is a common problem with some HP laptops, so much that HP has extended the warranty for some. I will contact HP soon to get the problem diagnosed, hopefully it is an easy fix, but if they are not helpful I will need to return the computer.

Great Deal!

Great deal for this computer. Windows 7 64bit, 4 GB of memory; you won't find a better deal right now, and I have tried. I actually returned a Samsung that had just shipped, for this computer. Very happy with the purchase..

Great laptop

I just brought this computer and so far I love it. The specs are great! If you were to build this computer with all these specs elsewhere (even on Sony's site) you'd be paying over $1200 easily. I upgraded from my cheap Compaq that I only had for one year. My Compaq would get extremely hot and the computer would shut down on its own as a result of it. I've had my Vaio on since I purchased it yesterday and it hasn't even barely warmed up. The keyboard is great and spacious. Being that the monitor is a 14", I'm glad it's widescreen so it's a little easier to adjust to coming from a 15+". I would've preferred a the red or black version but apparently they were only offered online and they were sold out. I haven't tested the battery life yet but even 2.5 hours is good to me considering my Compaq only got a little over 1 hr. The quick web bootup is a great feature and saves a lot of time. Again, this is a great computer and I'd definitely recommend it.

Great Buy!!!

Very easy to setup. Great comp for the price. The finish of the computar is great! Web cam is amazingly clear. The mic doesnt sound to great but it works okay.
The battery is a little weak.
Overall very satified with this product!

BEST computer Out There!

I bought mine from Wal-Mart on November 27, 2008 for $399.99 and haven't had a single problem. I use it on a daily basis and have dropped it many times. This computer is wicked fast.. I've heard that Celeron is slow but my mother has an ACER with an AMD ATHLON and more memory than my computer and mine has 1,500 songs hers has NOTHING, just out of the box and mine is wayy faster!. I love this computer. However, I decided I am going to buy a newer laptop as I have warn the keys pretty badly on mine AND the cover of mine got scratched.. NOW, I dropped the computer the other day and I bent the end of my charger that plugs in2 the laptop (i fixed the chord and it still fits loose, but charges with no problem). The one I have is BLUE on the front and it's Shiny and my Girl friend decided to set a dinner plate on the cover (on more than one occasion) and now my cover is scratched all up, also the shiny covers scratch harder than the Satin ones. I love my Toshiba soo much I have been comparing  more

Excellent Computer!!!!!!!!

I had the the new gateway llt3103 netbook and it was very slow and not very smooth. This computer is very smooth with windows7 and it is very quit it never get hot at all! I recommend this computer to anyone how wants a portable computer with great wifi and it is a great price! Get it now!
